If you wear shoes size 5 or smaller, this post is for you! It can be a pain to find fashionable and affordable shoes in petite sizes. I’ve been between a size 4 and 5 my entire adult life, so I totally get the tiny feet struggle! Over the years I’ve built up a great resource of shoe stores that I can rely on to find shoes in my size and smaller.
I tried on a pair of heels in-store in a size that fit me for the first time when I was 21. Through high school, college, and multiple internships, I attempted to try on trendy shoes, professional heels, and all kinds of shoes in popular shoe stores only to be disappointed every time. The size 5 shoes never fit and none of the stores had smaller sizes. I remember paying over $130 for a pair of designer heels for work, not because I wanted to, but because they were the most affordable shoes in my size. As a college student, I was disappointed that I couldn’t simply buy a pair of decent heels for $50 at DSW like everyone else.
Lucky for me and you, the days of stuffing the toes of boots, adding insoles, and wearing super thick socks to fill the space are over! I’ve done the research and put together a list of petite-friendly shoe stores for you to check out!
Nordstrom Rack is where I tried on a pair of heels for the first time in-store and it remains the first place I check for small size shoes to this day! Most stores that I’ve visited carry sizes 5 through 11 and some select stores will carry shoes in 4 and 4.5 as well. Since Nordstrom Rack allows for in-store returns of online items, sometimes I’ll find a size 4 or 4.5 mixed in with the 5’s. If you don’t quite fit a size 5 in store, Nordstrom Rack has a great selection of shoes for sizes 4 and 4.5 online, and most times you can score free shipping too!
Nordstrom used to be the only place I could find shoes that fit my petite feet. There’s definitely a better selection now for petite sizes, but the prices can vary depending on the brand or designer. B.P is my favorite Nordstrom-exclusive brand to purchase shoes from. They’re always on trend and for the most part affordable. Lots of the shoes available for smaller sized feet are high-end designer shoes that retail for $100 or more, but with some strategic searching, it’s definitely possible to find amazing petite footwear for reasonable prices.
Steve Madden carries shoes in sizes 5 to 11 as well, but I’ve found that their size 5 shoes are cut a bit smaller than most stores, so my size 4.5 ladies definitely check it out! Steve Madden also has a great rewards program and regular sales and promo codes. I used to work close to a Steve Madden outlet store and I spent many lunch breaks shoe shopping my heart out!
Asos has been growing in popularity in the last few years mainly for its affordable and trendy clothing. While I haven’t ordered from them yet, I’ve noticed that they also carry petite size shoes as well! They have hundreds of trendy styles for shoe sizes ranging from 4 to 11 and their prices are right on par with what you would expect to pay at Nordstrom Rack.
Pretty Small Shoes is a UK based company that specializes in high fashion shoes for petite size feet. I found this website a few days ago when I was searching for new petite shoe stores to try out. Pretty Small Shoes carries an amazing array of on-trend shoes for petite sizes 2 to 5. The styles are beautiful and I love that their sizing page includes a reference sheet to compare the size of their shoes to popular retailers. The prices are steep, but the styles are beautiful and they offer a 30-day exchange or refund.
