A classic shift dress is a must in any petite woman’s closet! When I used to work in the corporate world, shift dresses were a lifesaver for me because in a matter of minutes, I felt put together and ready to take on the day. Even though I work in a more creative space now, I still turn to shift dresses when I need to look polished in a snap. They’re super versatile and one of my absolute favorite pieces in my closet! My navy blue petite shift dress comes in 7 beautiful colors and is super affordable at only $49. Keep reading to check out how I style one petite shift dress into three different outfits!

Corporate Chic

Kickin’ it back to a prior life with this one! For a corporate work environment, I paired my petite shift dress with a skinny belt, d’Orsay pumps, and a matching blazer to create this blush and navy look. I’ve always loved the combination of light and dark, but it doesn’t always have to be black and white all the time! Spice up classic corporate colors like black, white, grey, and navy with pops of muted pinks (like I did here), pastels, jewel tones, or red if you want to be bold! The blush skinny belt helps break up the look by accentuating my waist while also tying the whole outfit together because it matches my blazer and shoes. I topped off the look with my favorite Tory Burch Robinson Tote and classic diamond studs. This look is super easy and a great alternative to a classic suit that can sometimes feel restricting or drown a petite frame if it’s not fitted properly.

Semi Business Casual

Sometimes all you need is a dress and black pumps! I almost always pair shift dresses with a belt to cinch in my waist for a more hourglass shape, especially since I’m petite, but I also love the simplicity of adding a pair of heels and heading out! The block heel keeps me comfortable while also giving me the perfect amount of height. In less business-y work environments, this soft moto-inspired blazer pulls the whole look together while the cropped length draws attention to my waist! Sticking with basic colors like navy, grey, and black keeps the look wearable for the office and chic for happy hour!

Casual Weekend

Shift dresses aren’t just for work! I like to pair my navy blue petite shift dress with a black mixed material belt, cheetah print flats, and a crossbody bag for a fun and comfortable weekend brunch look. It’s so easy to put together and with a quick swap of shoes and toss of the belt, I can be ready for dinner out on the town in seconds!
