Summer is upon us and so is the season of getaways. I don’t have a Caribbean vacation planned for this summer, but I did visit St. Lucia in February 2019. I fell in love with the incredible island, the warm people, and the laid back vibes.

We stayed on the Atlantic side of St. Lucia at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort and it was the perfect all inclusive experience. If you want to read more about our stay at Coconut Bay Beach Resort, check out my review here

Here are some of my favorite looks from lounging on the beach to a fancy dinner date on the beach!

Beach Bum Mornings

Zaful Bikini and Skirt - vacation style

We spent most of our mornings and early afternoons lounging on the beach, so my outfits consisted mostly of a swim suit and a beachy coverup like the long skirt I’m wearing here.

Most all inclusive resorts have a relatively lax dress code, but will require you to either wear regular clothes or a decent cover up to eat inside the buffet hall.

On the days when I wore my bandeau bikini and tailored high waisted shorts, I had no issue being seated because it looked like a regular crop top and shorts. On the day I wore my bikini top and long skirt, I had to add a light cover up top to be allowed inside the buffet, so be sure to know your resort’s policies or opt for the less formal pool-side or beach-side eateries.

Afternoon Shopping Spree

Stripes are truly a summer staple for me. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect striped dress, and I’m so glad I found this one from Lulus in time for my trip!

On the Saturday of our week-long resort stay, local artisans were invited to set up shop in the resort to sell handmade items and one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

After laying on the beach for a few hours in the morning, I opted for a simple striped dress and easy sandals for an afternoon of shopping.

I love how a simple fitted dress and sandals make for the perfect comfortable summer outfit!

Date Night on the Beach

Zaful Long Floral Dress - vacation style

Our resort stay wouldn’t be complete without a proper date night! We went on a few fancy date nights while on vacation, but this dress was definitely my favorite.

I actually hunted this dress down on Zaful after seeing it in a few trending instagram posts.

When I first tried it on, I was disappointed to find that I looked a bit frumpy since I’m so short and petite. With some strategic halter strap tying and a pair of 4-inch heels, I got the dress to fit perfectly.

I’m a huge fan of florals, so I absolutely loved the dreamy vibe to this dress. It features an open back and a front leg slit. You can customize the straps by experimenting with different ways to tie them. I prefer to criss-cross the straps right under my chest to give the dress more of a fitted look and I loved how it turned out!

My day to day outfits consist of typical office work wear, so I love the opportunity to play with my personal style while on vacation. Lulus and Zaful are my current favorite online clothing stores for summer style classics and on-trend must haves.
