Trader Joe’s has some of the best snacks and treats, but their limited edition seasonal items are my favorite. Since fall is in full swing, I decided to stop by my local Trader Joe’s to pick up some pumpkin spice goodies! Keep reading for my hits and misses.
Pumpkin Spice Coffee
I usually make coffee in a French press, so my Keurig doesn’t get much use anymore unless I’m really in a rush. Over the weekend Dan made me a cup of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Coffee using the Keurig K-cups and it was so good that I picked up a box the next day! Usually K-cup coffee tastes watered down and acidic to me, but not this one. It tastes like a cross between coffee and chai tea. It strikes a nice balance between pumpkin spice flavor and a medium roast coffee. I recommend using the small or medium setting on the Keurig to preserve the coffee and pumpkin spice flavors.
Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps
I picked these up because I thought the combination of sweet cranberry and savory pumpkin would make a great pair. Honestly, I thought the cranberry was way too overpowering. I paired it with Dubliner cheese to see if the salty taste from the cheese would balance it out, but it didn’t really help the flavor much. The crisps on their own are okay, but I definitely won’t be buying them again.
Maple & Sea Salt Kettle Corn
If you like kettle corn, I highly recommend picking up a bag of this seasonal treat. The slight maple flavor mixed with the sea salt made for the perfect sweet and salty snack. A scary movie, cuddling with a dog, and this Maple & Sea Salt Kettle Corn are all the ingredients you need for a rainy fall day inside.
Pumpkin Pie Spiced Ginger Brew
If you like authentic ginger ale or ginger beer, I highly recommend trying the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Pie Spiced Ginger Brew. Much like the Pumpkin Spice Coffee, Trader Joe’s does a great job of balancing the Pumpkin Pie Spice with the authentic ginger ale taste. It’s slightly sweet with a touch of savory from the pumpkin pie spice. It makes a great addition to any fall themed beverage rotation, so definitely check it out!
Candy Corn Popcorn
I love candy corn! I could eat bags of candy corn if I had the option, but being an adult requires some level of self-control. Next best thing is this Candy Corn Popcorn! I was worried at first that this would either taste too similar to the Maple & Sea Salt Kettle Corn or that the candy corn flavor would be too sweet and overbearing. I was wrong about both. The Candy Corn popcorn has just the right amount of candy corn coating to give the popcorn a sweet edge without making me feel like I was eating gobbs of melted candy corn.
Pumpkin Ginger Hold the Cone Mini Ice Cream
Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of this dessert or the option to go out and buy another one, so a stock photo from Trader Joe’s website will have to do. This seasonal treat is sold out in almost all the Trader Joe’s locations, but I’ll be ready next year! The Pumpkin Ginger Hold the Cone Mini Ice Cream is the star of the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice line up in my opinion! I’m a huge sucker for mini things, so these mini pumpkin ginger ice cream cones had my attention from the start. The mix of ginger and pumpkin are right on trend for fall, and they’re just as delicious as they are adorable! The slightly ginger flavored sugar cone is filled with spiced pumpkin ice cream and topped with a ginger infused confectionary coating. The ginger flavor is noticeable, but not enough to overpower the pumpkin ice cream. I have to admit that I’m slightly addicted to these tiny cones of fall perfection! I only wish Trader Joe’s sold them through Thanksgiving.
Trader Joe’s really knows how to bring the pumpkin spice flavor! Although some of the seasonal items like the Maple & Sea Salt Kettle Korn and the Pumpkin Hold the Cones are mostly sold out, a lot of the other pumpkin flavored snacks are still out on shelves, so grab ’em while you can!
